Pastor

Dr. Julia Wharff Piermont

On August 13, 2023, Pastor Julia was called by the congregation of Christ Church to be our new full-time pastor, after the retirement of Pastor Norman Pritchard, who faithfully served Christ Church for the past nine years. Director of Music

Robert S. Romanski

Robert comes to us with outstanding credentials and experience. He was Director of Music Ministries at the Ruskin United Methodist Church since 2006, and is presently an Adjunct Music Professor at the University of South Florida, Barry University and Hillsborough Community College.

Prior to working at the Ruskin church, Robert was Director at the First Presbyterian Church of Brandon. He has been appointed as Director and Principal Conductor of the North Port Symphony. Robert has degrees in Music Education, conducting and Applied Music and has completed his course work in a Ph D. Music Education Program.

Organist

Chris Westfall

Our new Organist is Chris Westfall, a native of Marysville, a relatively small town in central Ohio. While still in high school, Chris studied piano performance at The Ohio State University, then attended the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy, and served as a Deputy Sheriff for 8 years, left law enforcement to become a Social Worker specializing in Foster Care and Adoption Services. During that time, he changed his course of study to include playing the pipe organ. Being raised a Methodist, he served for 20 years as Organist and ChoirMaster at the local United Methodist Church in Marysville, Ohio.

After serving for five years as Director of Music and Organist at Holy Name Catholic Church in Columbus, Ohio, he accepted a position as Director of Music at St. Stephen Catholic Church (a huge parish of close to 15,000 members) in Valrico, Florida. After 14 years, he left St. Stephen and went on to
serve two smaller parishes until his “retirement” at the end of 2022.

Administrative Assistant

Nancy Prezbindowski

Nancy Prezbindowski joined the staff of Christ Church as Administrative Assistant on October 31, 2022. Having served as administrative assistant for a Bradenton tin ceiling production company and also employed in the same capacity at an electrical company in Riverview, FL, Nancy brings talent and experience to her job. Born and raised in Manatee County, Nancy graduated from Southeast High School, Bradenton. Nancy has Native American ancestry in the Choctaw Nation, and her husband Josh is of Polish descent. They are parents of son Isaak. Nancy’s hobbies and expertise include working with her husband in car restorations.

Session

The Session is the church’s council made up of elders, church members elected by the congregation for three-year terms to guide and direct the ministry of the church. Elders chair the following committees and ministry teams in which any member may participate:

Deacons

The Board of Deacons is a group of church members elected by the congregation and called to serve as the primary assistants to the staff for pastoral care. Deacons serve for ##-year terms; ## are elected each year.

Deacons provide home communion, send cards for special occasions, … , and comfort families and members.
